Maison DION handles your data with care. We process only what we need to serve you well, and we never sell your data to third parties.
This privacy policy applies to all data processing via www.maison-dion.com. It describes what data we collect, why, who we share it with and what rights you have.

What data we collect
Data you provide yourself, when placing an order, creating an account or signing up for our newsletter:
First and last name
Billing and delivery address
Email address
Phone number
Order details, such as the items and sizes you buy
Payment details: these are processed by our payment providers. Maison DION does not see or store your full payment details.
Data we collect when you visit our website:
Technical data, such as your IP address, browser and device
Website usage, such as pages and products viewed, and whether you arrived via social media or an advertisement
We place analytics and marketing cookies only if you give your consent via our cookie banner. If you decline, we use only the cookies needed for the webshop to work.
Why we process your data
Maison DION processes personal data for the following purposes:
Processing, shipping and delivering your order.
Sending order confirmations and shipping information.
Handling returns, withdrawals and complaints.
Keeping our records and complying with legal obligations.
Understanding and improving our website.
Measuring the effect of our posts and advertisements on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest, and showing relevant advertisements. Only with your consent.
Sending our newsletter. Only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email.
Legal basis for processing
Performance of a contract: for orders, delivery, returns and withdrawals.
Legal obligation: for our financial records and tax filings.
Consent: for analytics cookies, marketing cookies and the newsletter. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings on our website or by unsubscribing from the newsletter.
Legitimate interest: for securing our webshop and preventing fraud.
Who we share your data with
We work with a number of parties that process data on our behalf. They receive only what they need for their task.
Shopify: our webshop runs on Shopify. Shopify hosts the webshop and processes your order and account data.
Payment providers: Shopify Payments and Mollie process your payment, including payments via iDEAL | Wero.
Shipping: MyParcel and the carrier delivering your parcel (such as PostNL, DPD, DHL or UPS) receive your name, address and, where needed, your email address or phone number.
Accounting: Moneybird processes invoice data for our records.
Meta (Instagram and Facebook) and Pinterest: with your consent, we use the Meta pixel and the Pinterest Tag, with the related Conversions API. This shows us whether visitors reach our website and make a purchase via our posts or advertisements. Meta and Pinterest may also use this data for their own purposes, such as improving their advertising services. They are responsible for that themselves. More information can be found in the privacy policies of Meta and Pinterest.
Google Analytics: with your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how our website is used. Your IP address is shortened in the process.
Newsletter: when you sign up for our newsletter, your email address is stored in Shopify. We send the newsletter via Shopify Messaging and use your email address solely for that purpose.
Data outside the European Union
Some of these parties, such as Shopify, Meta, Pinterest and Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States and Canada. This happens only with appropriate safeguards: a decision by the European Commission that the country offers an adequate level of protection, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we retain your data
Maison DION retains personal data no longer than necessary.
Order and invoice data: 7 years, in accordance with the statutory retention period.
Customer account: for as long as your account exists. Following a deletion request, we erase your data, except for data we are legally required to retain.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Website data via cookies: a maximum of 26 months.
Cookies
Necessary cookies: needed for the webshop to work, such as your shopping cart, login status, language and security. We use your IP address to determine your country, so you see the right currency and shipping options. We always place these cookies.
Analytics cookies: give insight into how our website is used. Only with your consent.
Marketing cookies: the Meta pixel and the Pinterest Tag. Only with your consent.
You can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings on our website. You can also manage cookies via your browser settings.
Security
Maison DION takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access.
The website uses a secure SSL connection (HTTPS).
Payments are processed via certified payment providers. Maison DION does not store payment details.
Access to personal data is limited to Maison DION and the parties listed above, insofar as needed for their task.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights. You can submit a request via info@maison-dion.com. We respond within one month.
Right of access: you may request which data we process about you.
Right to rectification: incorrect data can be corrected.
Right to erasure: you may request deletion of your data, unless we are legally required to retain it.
Right to restriction of processing: you may request that we limit the processing of your data.
Right to data portability: you may request that your data be transferred to another party.
Right to object: you may object to the processing of your data.
Right to withdraw consent: you can withdraw your consent at any time, via the cookie settings on our website or by unsubscribing from the newsletter.
Maison DION does not make decisions based solely on automated processing.
